Welcome

I am a mental health advocate, political activist and social worker named Keith Mahar.

On September 14th, 2011, I shared my story at the Canberra Theatre for a program produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (Now Hear This).

For years I wanted to hide the fact that I experienced acute psychosis in Toronto, while campaigning for an investigation into a case of government corruption designed to unjustly enrich several Canadian media companies (Mediascam).

However, I changed my mind.

In fact, E.C Warner produced a short film for the Hope Awards in 1996 documenting my experience (The Naked Advocate); and the following year I conducted a presentation on my recovery from bipolar disorder at the World Psychiatric Association International Congress.

I presently work in community mental health, I volunteer in mental health and I am also developing an online mental health community development initiative (Mentalympians).

No, I haven't changed my mind about the case of government corruption.

As documented by corresponce from my legal counsel to Canada's prime minister on May 31st, 2010, Mediascam warrants a public inquiry into activities by public servants, media company executives and politicians (copy).
